I'm over a month behind, so I'm trying to catch up. Here is Days 104 through 110, mid April, the beginning of our beautiful Spring weather and the melting of the snow here in Anchorage.

Year of Photos, Day 104, April 14, 2009. If you recall my flight connection through Chicago on my way back to Anchorage was unbelievably tight. I had to go back to the airport to pick up my bags. I barely made it to that connecting flight, there is no way that my bags had. When I did, I snapped this photo of the giant 50th anniversary banner.

Year of Photos, Day 105, April 15, 2009. We hosted this display at the library. Each child figure was drawn by a school child and stands for one of the hundreds of children evaluated in Anchorage ERs last year for child abuse. The display continues around the back. It was a very cool display.

Year of Photos, Day 106, April 16, 2009. People in Anchorage have occasionally the most ridiculous trucks. This one was advertising a tattoo parlor. (We have a lot of rednecks up here.)

Year of Photos, Day 107, April 17, 2009. This boat is on blocks in someone's yard up in Chugiak. It's one thing to have an old car on blocks in your yard, but a whole boat? I love this boat. I refer to it as the dead boat.

Year of Photos, Day 108, April 18, 2009. At Kids Day there were kangaroos you could pet. Too cute! (Kids Day is a large festival of fun things for kids (like a HUGE festival) that the library participates in every year. By which I mean I sit at a booth for hours doing kid fun activities and talking up the library to everyone. Basically my normal library day, but in a different building.)

Year of Photos, Day 109, April 19, 2009. These birds are all over the place in Anchorage.

Year of Photos, Day 110, April 20, 2009. The bog I go walking on almost every day as it is slowly melting and welcoming back spring.
I had to work Saturday (as always), and since Monday is my normal day off, I get today off for Memorial Day weekend. It has been a nice weekend. A fun hike, good relaxation, a roommate's birthday, I made a moderately successful ice cream cake, and a lovely chance to just chill.
